What is Exosome?

Exosomes are protein vesicles obtained by purifying mesenchymal stem cells in a culture environment through special procedures. These vesicles typically contain numerous growth factors and amino acids. Exosomes derived from umbilical cord tissue of newborns are obtained by purifying them through specific processes in a culture environment. Exosomes are very small, usually ranging from 30-200 nm in diameter. These small vesicles can enhance the functions and repair of the affected cells.

What is Exosome Therapy?

Exosome therapy is used not only for aesthetic purposes but also in the treatment of certain diseases. Successful results are achieved in areas such as spot treatment, skin rejuvenation, acne scar treatment, atopic eczema, hair loss, wound healing, or burn treatment.

How is Exosome Therapy Performed?

Exosomes are stored as a homogeneous suspension in a sterile cold chain. Approximately 30 minutes before the treatment, the patient's skin is cleansed, and a local anesthetic cream is applied. In exosome therapy, exosomes obtained from stem cells are injected dermally into the designated area using micro-needles. Repair of damaged cells begins after the injection of exosome skin serum. Patients can resume their daily activities after the procedure.

Exosome therapy typically takes about 30 minutes. The number of sessions to be applied may vary depending on the treatment goal and the individual's needs. For example, in hair loss treatment, the process may involve 3-8 sessions. Procedures are usually performed at intervals of 7-14 days. It can also be applied after hair transplantation to support the transplanted hair.

Among the benefits of exosome therapy is the fact that, unlike other stem cell methods, it does not require bone marrow or abdominal fat extraction from the patient, and it is a more practical method.
